Improve your digestive health. Decrease your arthritis pain. Lower your glucose level. How? By popping a potent pill! Can it be true? Does such a pill exist? But where would it come from? Aloe vera is where! Yup, all that medicinal power comes from a plant! Aloe vera, a succulent, has long leaves with a fleshy, health-boosting interior that can be put into pill form. Although most commonly known for its uses as a topical application (e.g. eczema control, burn relief, bruise soother), aloe gel can be taken orally: all it takes is the pop of an aloe vera pill, and you could deal with a lot of digestive and bone/muscle ailments!
Aloe Vera Pills: The Medicinal Benefits
Why take aloe vera as a pill? Oh, there are many reasons:
- helps lower blood sugar (may therefore help individuals with type 2 diabetes)
- aid digestive health by allowing the body to more easily absorb nutrients (e.g. constipation, acid reflux disease, IBS, irritable bowel syndrome, and other gastrointestinal medical conditions)
- act as anti-inflammatory agent (e.g. arthritis, mild joint inflammation, sore muscles, etc.)
Options, Options, and More Options!
Ingesting aloe internally allows you to take advantage of more of aloe’s health benefits. What can slathering aloe on your skin not do? See the list above. Even better, aloe vera pills give you another way to get your aloe medicine: orally. It can not only do more than topically applying aloe vera, but it can do the same thing.
So, let me show you what I mean. Take aloe vera’s ability, when put in cream or lotion and applied to the skin, to fight acne. If you do not want the daily hassle of applying another skin cream or lotions to reap aloe’s acne-healing and -soothing properties, guess what? You don’t have to! It is not aloe vera in topical form or nothing at all! Aloe vera pills can relieve your acne symptoms just as well as face cream! So take your pick. You have the ability to choose. Aloe vera caters to your preferences!
But remember, what is too-good-to be-true usually is. Although aloe vera pills open up many more possibilities–and rearranging of already existing possibilities–it is not without its flaws: if taken incorrectly, aloe vera taken by mouth can have side effects.
